What changed
Session 1 starts two days earlier than NTA first planned. NTA's examination calendar of 16 September 2026 put it on 22 to 30 January 2027, as tentative dates. The public notice of 24 October 2026 set 20 to 28 January 2027.
The form also opened a week earlier than last year: on 24 October 2026 for JEE Main 2027, against 31 October 2025 for JEE Main 2026.

How much time is left
Session 1 starts on 20 January 2027, and Session 2 on 2 April 2027.

When is JEE Main 2027 Session 1?
NTA has set Session 1 for 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027. Your own date and shift will be on your admit card, out on 13 January 2027.
What is the last date to apply for JEE Main 2027?
For Session 1, apply and pay the fee by 22 November 2026, up to 11:50 pm. After that, NTA takes late applications from 23 to 26 November 2026 with a ₹500 late fee. For Session 2, the form is open from 5 January to 3 February 2027. Apply on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
When will the JEE Main 2027 admit card come out?
On 13 January 2027 for Session 1 and 25 March 2027 for Session 2, on jeemain.nta.nic.in. The city intimation slip comes first: 30 December 2026 for Session 1 and 12 March 2027 for Session 2.
When is JEE Main 2027 Session 2?
2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 April 2027. The Session 2 form is open from 5 January to 3 February 2027, and NTA will confirm these form dates in a separate notice.
What are the JEE Main 2027 shift timings?
For papers of 3 hours, the first shift is 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and the second 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm (IST). For B.Arch and B.Planning both (3 hours 30 minutes), it is 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
